He said, she said

Research has shown that women speak up to three times more words per day than men speak, on average. But is it true? That sounds like a big discrepancy. Well, if numbers, figures, and statistics aren't your thing, here is a little qualitative research for you, based on a non-scientific study I performed over the last 24 hours:

This morning, when I was on the phone with my sister, she mentioned she had called me last night. She continued, "I thought I was calling your cell phone because in my phone I have my contacts mixed up and I have your Skype phone as your cell number and your cell number as your Skype number. So I didn't realize I was calling your Skype phone, and then Dan picked up, and I thought it was you, because I thought I was calling your cell, so I was like 'Are you okay?' Because it didn't sound like you at all. And he was like 'I'm fine, what's up?' And I still thought you sounded really weird, like maybe you were sick or something but I was like 'Not much, what are you doing?' and he said, 'Cooking,' and then I realized it was Dan, not you, and he thought I was you!"

On the other hand, when I returned from the gym yesterday and walked through the door, Dan called out from the kitchen, "Your sister called."
